What’s better than oysters & BBQ? You have until February 24th to give an alternative answer, otherwise it’s time to get ready for the 9th annual Pork & Pearls. Not only is it great food and fun, it’s one of the largest fundraisers for the Windwood Family Services, a cause that helps fight against child neglect and abuse in South Carolina. Along with delectable bites, there’s live music, adult libations and a wide array of activities in the kid’s zone.

Looking for a way to give your kids a chance to burn off some of that never-ending energy? Take them to The Kids Run & Wonderfest, held in Hampton Park the day before the annual Cooper River Bridge Run. Kids up to 13 years of age and families are welcome to partake. Activities like Face Painting, Jump Castles, Petting Zoo, and more are sure to make it a memorable day.

Averaging 40,000 participants per year, the Cooper River Bridge Run is the 3rd largest 10k in the US. Raising money for 15 donations by runners and fundraising events throughout the year, this marathon is an excellent opportunity to test your physical and mental health while also giving back. World-class competition flocks to Charleston to participate, but that doesn’t mean amateurs aren’t welcome to undertake this run as well. So put on this running shoes and get out there!
